[00:00:00] Speaker A: Welcome to the Pit Legends podcast. I'm joined by my fellow pit legends, Gary McGee, Jermaine Dixon, Lavance Fields. I am your host, Nick Rivers. Great weekend college basketball. This is the year of the blue blood. All number one seeds advance to the final Four. Fellas, let's recap the week. Not many good games, but the games that were good, they were great. Let's talk about some of these good games. What, what, what caught your eye this weekend? College basketball. [00:00:27] Speaker B: I would say the Florida game, they showed again, they, they toughness and not give up spirit. I think again that game against Yukon was a real gut check for them and they carried it over. The next was that two games that's been since then and they have been both games where they had to, you know, come back or make big plays, both on the offensive side and defensive side of the ball. And they did that. So I would say Florida, it was, it was really intriguing that game. Obviously Texas Tech had to play very well. They missed the front end of some key one and ones which gave Florida opportunity. So I think that was just a really good game. [00:01:06] Speaker C: Yeah, I would agree that, that that was a good game. Like you said, I thought Texas A and M had it. Free throws always seems like college basketball. Free throws, the game always comes down to that. The front end of the one on ones, they're tough. That's what I think that's what makes the college game so more intriguing down the stretch is the one on ones, you know, not, not getting guaranteed two free throws, one and then the bonus. And then a lot of times guys miss that first one and it makes the game more interesting for Florida. They just show, they show toughness like you said, staying in the game. Walter Clayton Jr. Big shot after big shots. Mr. Big Shot, he's a college Mr. Big Shot. Chauncey Billis, like he just hit big shot after big shot. He doesn't need a lot of space. He creates enough space to get his shot off. Elevates up great free throw shooter. Just a tough, just a tough player, man. [00:01:55] Speaker B: Big shots, big shots. The one he caught in the paint and dribbled it out and hit the three. Oh man, I'm like, yo, that was tough. That was. [00:02:09] Speaker D: I think that probably was the best game of the, of the weekend. And like I said from the start, I didn't believe in Texas Tech. Lee, I think you picked them to win the, the Big 12. I don't know if you really was rocking with them or it was just, hey, I'm picking a team either way. I'M gonna give you the credit. You picked them. [00:02:29] Speaker B: Thank you. [00:02:30] Speaker D: They went to the Elite Eight and it was good. Like at a point in the game it was close. They was back and forth and Texas Tech went on, it was like a 12, 2 run to take control of the game in the second half and controlling it all the way until the end of the game. And then the dude off the bench had 20 points for Texas Tech hog Thomas Hogg, he hit two big threes when they, they were down six. Yeah, they were down six. He hit, he hit two big threes to tie the game up. And then Walter Clayton Jr. He finished them off with another two right behind that. That happened in the last three minutes of the game. So they just, I think we said it before Florida, I think it was just experience. Like they brought a lot of those guys back from last year and they showed their well oiled machine going to the Final Four. So I look forward to seeing them play next weekend. [00:03:23] Speaker C: They got four good bigs, though. A rotation of just bigs just coming in the game, just handling the business, man. I like how they rotate their bigs. What else? I'll say. Oh, for Texas Tech, I remember earlier in the year they had that game against Houston and I thought they was tough and they, I mean they had a fight to make it that far as they did. That was, that was good to see them in the tournament and doing that. [00:03:45] Speaker B: I appreciate that, man. Don't forget. Yeah, I picked them for the Big 12. [00:03:48] Speaker D: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. I give you that credit. I give you that credit. [00:03:54] Speaker B: Obviously Gary wasn't gonna give me credit. You see that, right? [00:03:56] Speaker C: Hey, hey, what's Miguel, what's Miguel's song? I picked the sure thing. Houston. [00:04:04] Speaker A: Actually, let's, let's get to it. Let's get to these final predictions. It's Final Four weekend. Let's see where everybody's standing on their predictions. We're big on predictions here. Let's see if the, if the data backs it up. Everybody's Final Fours. Gary, how many your Final Four teams left? [00:04:17] Speaker C: So see what happened was y'all remember I did two of them. So I'm going back to my first one. The first one, I got three teams in it. I got three teams in it. No, but I have, I think I got one left. [00:04:37] Speaker D: Who Duke. [00:04:37] Speaker C: That them is. [00:04:39] Speaker D: No, Houston, you didn't have Duke in the Final Four. [00:04:42] Speaker C: I, I picked it. I went against the grain. [00:04:46] Speaker D: That's what I be talking about. [00:04:48] Speaker C: Picked Alabama. I was right. [00:04:50] Speaker D: Remember? [00:04:51] Speaker C: I was right. Alabama, that's who I picked. [00:04:53] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. [00:04:54] Speaker C: Thought that was going to be able to handle business. So Mark Sears laid an egg, a bad one. [00:05:00] Speaker B: After the game we just had. That was crazy. I didn't think he was going. [00:05:03] Speaker C: He was cooking. I said, I thought. Yo. I was like, oh, they got a chance. [00:05:06] Speaker B: They gotta get a 17 points at least. Yeah, I think he'd get like. [00:05:10] Speaker C: So that was tough, you know, Alabama. That's why I picked. That's why I picked the winner, you know, So I didn't have the same bracket as y'all, but in my heart of hearts, I thought it was gonna come down to the Duke vs. Auburn rematch. So I just always had that, you know, just put that in the side pocket. Just. I just had to bring it up. But go ahead. [00:05:28] Speaker B: Bracket. [00:05:29] Speaker D: I got. I got one team because I didn't pick Auburn. I got. I got Duke, but they was my national champion, so. Hey, hey, we all the way with it. Let's go. Cooper flag, let's go. So I think Michigan. I picked Michigan. [00:05:46] Speaker C: We both did. [00:05:49] Speaker B: And Gary was hooking up with the spread. That's Clap him out of there. Yeah, that's a definite. [00:05:56] Speaker C: Them up quickly. [00:05:58] Speaker D: Maryland was another team. They didn't. They. [00:06:02] Speaker C: I got two, man. [00:06:04] Speaker B: I got two. So I won that. I got two. I did. [00:06:08] Speaker C: Look, I didn't Straight away being Auburn and Duke. [00:06:10] Speaker B: I got Auburn and Duke. I wouldn't be silly. [00:06:13] Speaker C: You just chalked it up, I guess. Hey, hey, man, I guess you got a point, man. In this nil time. Pick the ones. [00:06:21] Speaker B: Tennessee ain't get smoked like that. [00:06:23] Speaker D: I would have had three Tennessee guys. [00:06:25] Speaker C: That's what I had. Tennis. [00:06:27] Speaker D: Yeah, I had Tennessee, too. [00:06:28] Speaker C: I had Tennessee. [00:06:31] Speaker B: I had Duke losing the St. John. So, yeah, you know, now I'm with Duke. So I got Duke winning against him. [00:06:36] Speaker C: Yeah, I definitely didn't see that. I told y'all. St. John's was probably a second round exit. [00:06:40] Speaker D: You want to keep saying that? You said it last episode. I'm gonna say it again. [00:06:44] Speaker C: I gotta be right about something. Ain't gonna take all these elves. [00:06:49] Speaker D: Hey, I. I ain't watch. I didn't really get to see much of that Tennessee game. When I cut it on, it wasn't interesting. So I was like, I'm not watching it, but I seen what's the point. Zeigler. Zegler. [00:07:03] Speaker C: Ziegler. [00:07:03] Speaker D: Yeah, Ziegler. Yeah, I see he struggled and that was my final 14. They just play awful. And I don't know why I went against Samson, bro. Houston defensive team, he's been doing it since he got there. I don't know why I expect anything different. [00:07:18] Speaker B: It happens. Get caught up. [00:07:20] Speaker C: Hey, early prediction for the. Just. I'm gonna say this for the score against Duke Houston. That's gonna be a defensive battle. [00:07:26] Speaker D: Oh, yeah. [00:07:28] Speaker C: Under. [00:07:29] Speaker A: Take it Yander. Hold on. We. We're not on General. [00:07:33] Speaker C: That's a crazy one. I'm just saying. I'm just saying because those are. Those are the best two defensive teams left in terms. They strap up. They had Tennessee in a box. They couldn't do nothing. [00:07:44] Speaker B: That's not. That's not Cooper. All right. [00:07:50] Speaker A: What player do you guys think is the MVP of the tournament so far? Who thinks most outstanding player out of. [00:07:55] Speaker D: The last four teams? [00:07:56] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:07:57] Speaker B: Gotta go. Clayton Jr. Gotta go, Clayton. [00:08:00] Speaker C: I think I'm not going. Clayton. [00:08:03] Speaker B: I mean, hey, that's what I would say. [00:08:04] Speaker C: Deny Broom. He was getting busy. They couldn't do nothing with him. Fat knee. [00:08:09] Speaker D: But that's one game. [00:08:11] Speaker B: Yeah, he's saying all tournament, right? You saying he played good? [00:08:14] Speaker C: He had a first the first game. Maybe he wasn't a great one against the bad team, but he been playing good. [00:08:18] Speaker B: The last. [00:08:19] Speaker C: The. The Sweet 16 Elite 8. That's one of the games he played good. [00:08:23] Speaker D: I ain't gonna knock two. I got two. [00:08:26] Speaker C: Oh, Cooper flag. He didn't play good the last game. [00:08:30] Speaker A: He. [00:08:31] Speaker C: He wasn't. He wasn't great. [00:08:32] Speaker D: He did play you. Why you. Why do people keep saying that game? [00:08:36] Speaker C: I watched the game. [00:08:36] Speaker D: I watched the game. [00:08:38] Speaker C: Wasn't great. [00:08:39] Speaker D: I watched. Yes, he all right. [00:08:41] Speaker B: He don't got to be great. He was good. He was great. He was good. [00:08:44] Speaker C: You just said who's playing the best. So I got to go off each game. I'm telling you what my. My eye tell what? I seen that game. [00:08:49] Speaker D: You going. You picked broom off of one game. [00:08:52] Speaker C: I'm not thinking broom off one game for the stats. [00:08:54] Speaker B: Yo, y'all know Clayton Jr. Had 230 balls, right? Like, what are we talking about? [00:08:58] Speaker C: And clutch shot the most clutch. [00:09:02] Speaker B: Like, think he might have had three 34 games so far in the tournament. [00:09:07] Speaker A: Two huge shots. [00:09:08] Speaker B: Like, come on, Gary, what we talking about? [00:09:10] Speaker A: Second round floor. [00:09:12] Speaker B: Clayton Jr. Is the MVP of the tournament. [00:09:14] Speaker C: Clayton Jr. Balling. I mean, I can't really go against that. That's. That's the easy pick. You know how you try to say, oh, it's the easy pick. That's what you doing. Easy. [00:09:22] Speaker B: You probably rock with Cooper, but I'm like, son, that boy wild. [00:09:26] Speaker A: You gotta get NCAA tournament is your guards win the championship. [00:09:30] Speaker C: I Mean for the Sweet 16 game. I'm just saying Broom went for 22 and 12. Then he went for 25 and 18. I mean, I don't know what else the big fella gotta do. He hit two threes. What you want him to do? I don't know what else you want the big fella to do. He's doing everything out there, which I want him to do. Mop up the wet spots too. Like he's doing it all. [00:09:50] Speaker A: Everybody has Duke winning. [00:09:52] Speaker C: It is. [00:09:53] Speaker A: Are we all in agreement or do. [00:09:54] Speaker C: You think anybody can beat Duke? [00:09:56] Speaker D: Did it change? [00:09:58] Speaker C: I got Auburn winning. I mean, now we can. We can repeat now that I'm back. [00:10:03] Speaker A: Better than Duke guards. [00:10:04] Speaker C: No, you said Auburn's guards. Yeah, Taj Pettiford is good, man. He'd be getting to it, man. He played great in the Sweet 16 Elite 8. When it wasn't mattered. [00:10:14] Speaker D: The Elite 8. He didn't play great. [00:10:17] Speaker C: I said, Goodness, Sweet 16 in the Elite 8. Pettyford. [00:10:20] Speaker D: No, you said great. Yes, you said great. Use the words great. He wasn't great. He was good. He wasn't great. [00:10:27] Speaker B: Yo, Clayton only got 1:30. Bullish tournament. I'm tripping. [00:10:31] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah. [00:10:32] Speaker B: Over there, it's big shots. That's why they team tripping over there. The shots were so major though. That one I gave, I guess that game, yukon, he had 24. I believe 23. It felt like it was maybe I'm. [00:10:46] Speaker C: Thinking that Sweet 16 game, man, against Michigan. [00:10:48] Speaker D: Yeah, but say he was. [00:10:51] Speaker C: I think he was. [00:10:51] Speaker D: He. [00:10:52] Speaker C: He started off hot. He made two big threes and I think he. He cooled off. Let me see what he was. [00:10:56] Speaker D: Yeah, I was. When I was watching the game, I was like, alma's a one man show. If I was Michigan State, I would have. I would have junk defense. Yeah, I did something. He was a one man show. And you know, I'm saying you don't. You don't wish injury on nobody. But I sure, I'm sure Michigan State was like, I hope he stay out. Yeah, I hope he'll come for sure. He came back in and hit a three. Bang. Right. Right away I said, oh, yeah, nothing wrong with his elbow. [00:11:22] Speaker B: Mitch should have had Michigan State. [00:11:23] Speaker C: Yeah, they was off though. Everybody else was. Was off for the most part. [00:11:26] Speaker D: Yeah. They was playing terrible. [00:11:28] Speaker C: So that's what, that's what makes Broom's performance even better. I'm just saying he carried him. [00:11:34] Speaker B: I ain't knocking you after. I thought Clayton had 3:30 go to at least two. [00:11:39] Speaker C: Clay Jr. Getting some help over there. What's my man's name? Is it. Is it car? Is it card one from Florida Atlantic. [00:11:45] Speaker B: Can't think his name N clean. Had too many. B has some big shots N big shots. [00:11:50] Speaker C: So I, I can. I respect that. I respect that one. So you going Cooper Clayton, and I'm going with Janai Broom. [00:12:00] Speaker B: All right. [00:12:01] Speaker A: So I think a lot of hype goes into players entering the portal. You know, players change teams every year, but I think this is probably one of the craziest off seasons for coaches changing jobs. Willard going to Nova, from Maryland to Nova. Buzz Williams going from A and M to Maryland. Like a coaching care. So what's, what's going on here is, are these jobs. Is Nova really a better job than Maryland? Is Maryland really a better job than A and M? Talk to me about these coaches leaving. What do you guys think? [00:12:29] Speaker D: I think Villanova is a better job than Maryland just because Villanova is pouring into their basketball program more. So Maryland is trying to. Maryland's trying to become a football team. I mean a football program. So they, they trying to keep up with that. So they throwing their, their share of revenue into the football team, putting less into the basketball team. So in that sense, in the Big east, obviously, I don't think Villanova has a football team. Most Big east schools don't have a football team. So, yeah, they gonna pull me money. [00:13:00] Speaker B: I think they do. [00:13:02] Speaker D: Okay. [00:13:02] Speaker A: Yes. It's not fcs. [00:13:04] Speaker D: Okay. But in that sense, they're going to pour more money into the basketball team just because that's where they getting most of their money from. So, yeah, I think that's a better job there. The Buzz Williams thing, that was shocking. I don't. You would typically. You don't typically see coaches leave from. Well now leave from Texas. That's where all the money is. So I felt like a coach like Buzz Williams, I think he has to know Maryland's giving him some type of money in nil for him to leave or it's a contract that he just couldn't turn down. I mean, we'll find out what it is, but I don't think Texas Tech is the worst. I don't think Maryland's a better job than Texas Tech. When you're talking money wise. I mean, Texas A M, I bet. [00:13:49] Speaker C: Especially Texas A and M, they got like one of the highest enrollment schools in the nation, like 72, 000 students. So you know that's right. Right there. Much bigger in Texas. Yeah. So that's. Yeah, like, like you said, it's just, it's a lot of moving parts now. It's just, it's pretty crazy. You know how coaches are moving, players are moving. It's like professional sports now. It's just, it's different. It's different. Like you said those, those moves aren't like I don't feel like none of them is like you know, he's not taking a step up from, you know, Maryland to Villanova. I don't know. It's just, it's different just seeing these moves now, I don't know how I feel about them. [00:14:26] Speaker D: They, they doing the, they got the revenue share with all the, the power forward conferences. Everyone gets 22 million and they split it between each program within the school. So Buzz Williams going to. Even though Maryland's not giving a lot of money, I feel like Texas A and M is definitely putting a whole lot more into the football team. So I don't know what, what they plan on giving to the basketball team. And I mean this is a source. I'm not 100% sure but they saying people that you when you give give money for it's not a, it's not a tax write off anymore. So now Boost is not just giving their money unless they fine with taking a loss. So them schools in Texas, yeah they might give it to the football team because we know what we're going to get from them. Might not do it for the basketball team. So Buzz might say hey, I'm not about to get what I'm expecting to get. So let me just go somewhere where I feel I can maybe get the talent I want or I don't know. I don't understand the move but it's bas College basketball is changing completely. [00:15:33] Speaker B: It's not this, not the source that said that the NC State thing. Right. I got a chance I might trust. [00:15:43] Speaker C: This one and that might got some legs that might have some legs if. [00:15:47] Speaker B: It was that source. Oh, we're not even. [00:15:52] Speaker D: No my sec source not a bad sauce but we going to leave that alone. We going to leave it alone. [00:15:57] Speaker B: I, I'm just letting you know, that's all bro. That sauce don't bring it to the table no more. [00:16:05] Speaker A: So it's, it's crazy. Every headline, you know, we're, we're in the chat. Every headline getting put into the chat, every headline I'm reading. I was nervous today because it's April Fools but it did say we got to talk pit. Jaylen Low has entered the transfer portal. What do we think about this move from. From low? I mean is it the Right thing for him. Are we surprised? [00:16:26] Speaker C: I mean, I'm not at all surprised. You know, they talk about it on the games that he's close with John Lucas Sr. Now his son Jay Lucas has the head coaching guy, head coaching job at Miami. So him entering the portal just seems like that was probably the next step. He wants to play for somebody that he knows. You know, Pitt have, you know, us having a down year this year. Maybe he just wants to change the scenery. I mean, that's his decision. More money, just basically hitting the free agency market and see what bites out there. So, I mean, that's just what I see is that move, what that move is about. [00:17:03] Speaker D: I mean, I wish him all the luck wherever he decides to go. I think it probably. It was the best move for him. I think G, you just said it. The change of scenery, you know, it's not a bad move. Wherever he decided to go, Miami's an option. I think he's from Texas, if I'm not mistaken, Houston or Dallas somewhere. So those schools are always in play. Yeah, I'm sure he's going to get more money. They're giving out. Everyone I'm seeing everyone talk about 1.52 million guys is getting crazy money. So I'm sure he, he's in line for that. He averaged 16 and 5, so good luck to him. Hopefully we can replace him. [00:17:46] Speaker B: Like Maine said, good luck to him. I agree with Gary. Wasn't surprised after, after the down year we had, maybe if we have a better year, maybe comes back, we stick around. But I, I think we, we all knew he was going to be. He was going to leave. You look on that paper. On the paper, he averages 16 and 5 assists. So the way today's climate is, you hit the portal, like Jermaine said, you just get 1 million, you know, close to it. So not surprised. This is how it's going right now, especially with Nil. So good luck to him and hopefully we can replace him and get somebody in Pitt so we could. We could have a better year. [00:18:28] Speaker D: Do y'all think we need a young garden or we just need to go get. We need a portal, go get vets. What do y'all see from us? [00:18:36] Speaker B: We need who can play, man. [00:18:37] Speaker C: We need the best players available. [00:18:39] Speaker B: That's what we need, man. Whoever. [00:18:41] Speaker C: Like, was it Mel Kuiper on the draft? Best. Best available players. That's what we need. Available players that's gonna come in and produce. [00:18:49] Speaker A: Unless you're Duke getting like the best player in the country. [00:18:53] Speaker B: I mean, yeah, everybody can't get that. But, man, it's players out there that understand their roles and know how to play basketball. I believe it's still players out there. You got to do the work and go, look, man, it's players out there. [00:19:05] Speaker D: And we was one. Something that we could. We could. We can bring that magic back. Oh, did y'all see that? We're going back to the old colors. I think that's what I did see that. [00:19:15] Speaker B: I mean, what. [00:19:17] Speaker C: Going back to the blue and gold. [00:19:21] Speaker A: They ever do that? We got the best. We have the best colors in college. I mean, college sports. [00:19:25] Speaker D: I mean, we got to bring back what work. [00:19:27] Speaker C: When we work, we need some juju back. [00:19:32] Speaker B: That's it. [00:19:32] Speaker C: Let's bring the pit block. The block. Pit back, too. Yeah. Cursive ain't working. [00:19:38] Speaker A: That better not be cursive ain't working. [00:19:40] Speaker D: You don't like it, Nick? [00:19:41] Speaker A: No, I think, especially football. The best jersey. I think we. [00:19:46] Speaker D: Go ahead. G said, I don't care about football. Say it. I see it. Say it. Go ahead. Say it. Say it. [00:19:53] Speaker C: No, they. They help. They help. They help with the revenue. They help with the revenue share is. [00:19:59] Speaker A: The most iconic, the cleanest, the freshest. Royal and gold is the freshest uniform in sports. [00:27:28] Speaker B: A lot of people, somebody else, but I keep that under wraps, man. They gonna deny it too, so it don't make no sense to bring it up. No, I'm leaving it. I'm leaving it buried. [00:27:42] Speaker C: Oh, man. These guys, they tall tales. [00:27:47] Speaker B: They folk. Folk stories. [00:27:51] Speaker C: Y. I was gonna say something, though, about the nil. Do y'all think they should have, like, a. A limit to how many times you can enter the portal? Or you think they should just be able to just keep going in and out? In and out. [00:28:00] Speaker B: Yeah, it. They should be able to keep going in and out. [00:28:04] Speaker C: I think they should at least have to go. You only get one time to get out of there. I'll trip him. I think somebody up there have five different schools. I'm like, dang. I think. [00:28:16] Speaker D: I think you should at least two. Two times, I think. [00:28:21] Speaker C: No, I think one time, bro. [00:28:23] Speaker D: One time. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. We passed that. We passed that now. We passed that. [00:28:31] Speaker C: But it's just like, something that was like, for me, it's just like. So you're just saying, oh, you want one year? One year deals. [00:28:49] Speaker D: When we were coming up, you got your scholarship. You didn't get a scholarship. It wasn't like a legit four years. They redid. They. You had to do was like renewal. A renewal every year, Right? [00:29:01] Speaker B: I don't remember. That was still. [00:29:02] Speaker C: I don't know about that. [00:29:03] Speaker A: Unless there's a hardship. [00:29:05] Speaker B: Yeah, that was 30 years ago. [00:29:08] Speaker D: Yeah, that's what I'm saying. It always been that way. The only difference now is guys are making their own decision. They gonna go get money now. [00:29:17] Speaker A: Here's why. I think it was for four years. Because, like, coaches used to have to make you leave or make you. [00:29:23] Speaker C: You know. Yeah. They had to do a lot to. [00:29:24] Speaker A: Get you, hey, like, I'm staying. And you had you stay, they would, like, push you out. You know, I was in those back office meetings. They were talking about none of y'all, but I was in the meetings. [00:29:38] Speaker D: They was trying to get out. [00:29:39] Speaker C: Nick. [00:29:43] Speaker D: Give me one name. We're going to the Bahamas, too. [00:30:05] Speaker C: That was going into what? That's after we left. Was he. When did he leave? [00:30:08] Speaker A: I forgot he left because remember, he. [00:30:10] Speaker D: Left after freshman year. [00:30:11] Speaker C: I love his freshman year. No. [00:30:13] Speaker A: So he red shirted then he. I think he left after his after year rest. Your sophomore year. [00:30:19] Speaker D: I think he wasn't on there the next year. [00:30:21] Speaker C: No, but he did have one year he was on the back because he lived in the wood. [00:30:26] Speaker A: I'm gonna tell you why. [00:30:27] Speaker C: Rest your year. [00:30:28] Speaker A: He lived in the wood. He was 08. [00:30:31] Speaker C: He used to always carry that ball around, that little dusty ball. [00:30:33] Speaker A: He had a little Harlem, bro. [00:30:36] Speaker B: Cast away, yo. [00:30:39] Speaker D: Look it up. I don't. I don't remember the white being in my scene. [00:30:44] Speaker A: It's definitely two years he was there. [00:30:45] Speaker D: At least he wasn't there in my senior year. [00:30:47] Speaker C: So Chase Adams took his scholarship? Basically. [00:30:49] Speaker D: Yes. [00:30:49] Speaker C: Yes. [00:30:50] Speaker A: Because he went. But he went to Tennessee. He landed on his feet. [00:30:55] Speaker B: From there. [00:30:56] Speaker A: Yeah. And we played against him. [00:30:58] Speaker D: Yo, that's what I'm telling y'all. That was my second year. Chase came. [00:31:03] Speaker C: He had a dunk, too, and he slipped the bench. He looked at Dixon like, yeah. [00:31:09] Speaker A: 8 and 4. [00:31:10] Speaker B: 8 and 4. Now you got 84. [00:31:12] Speaker C: I'm gonna look it up. [00:31:17] Speaker A: That was my man. Hey, nobody worked out harder and look good in layup lines. [00:31:20] Speaker D: Yeah, Dwight. Dwight. [00:31:23] Speaker C: He was in the league for real. [00:31:24] Speaker A: When I first walked into the gym, I was like, damn. [00:31:27] Speaker B: I'm like, cap it after a while because he carried that ball. But he was working hard, though, and. [00:31:32] Speaker A: Hook worked out together. [00:31:32] Speaker D: The white did play my senior year. [00:31:34] Speaker A: I told you. [00:31:36] Speaker C: What? How many games he played? [00:31:37] Speaker D: 16. [00:31:38] Speaker A: Told you. I'm looking. [00:31:39] Speaker D: I don't remember him. [00:31:40] Speaker C: He was playing. He was a four. Yeah, he wasn't getting. [00:31:42] Speaker D: I don't remember him being on the team. [00:31:44] Speaker C: It was. Oh, it was quiet for him. [00:31:46] Speaker B: He was a fresh. [00:31:48] Speaker D: I know. [00:31:51] Speaker A: Nas Ashton. [00:31:54] Speaker B: So he had to be there the next year. I left, man. [00:31:56] Speaker C: So what was he supposed to be a 4 minutes? [00:31:57] Speaker B: He was trying. No. [00:31:59] Speaker C: Was he supposed to be a four? [00:32:00] Speaker B: I don't know. [00:32:01] Speaker A: He's a tweener. [00:32:02] Speaker B: He won between the four and five. [00:32:05] Speaker D: They thought he was gonna be Sam Young. [00:32:07] Speaker C: He was gonna be. [00:32:07] Speaker A: Yeah, that's exactly. [00:32:09] Speaker B: Wasn't happening. [00:32:11] Speaker C: They don't make. They don't make dudes to play in no socks. They don't make them type of dude. That's. [00:32:16] Speaker B: You gotta be different with tape. [00:32:18] Speaker C: No socks. [00:32:19] Speaker D: That's crazy. [00:32:20] Speaker C: I remember one time he came to the game late, had 25 and 12. [00:32:24] Speaker D: That was. That was. [00:32:25] Speaker C: He didn't even go through warm ups. That was my thoughts. I said, why? He's on a track in the morning lift, chill a little bit, come back and play. I'm like, yo, this is a lot. [00:39:08] Speaker B: This is going to hoop and that's it. [00:39:11] Speaker C: We doing everything. Tim Bells is running me into lifting me into the ground. Every weight in there, Olympic lift, power, clean snatches. I'm like, what is this stuff? [00:39:56] Speaker D: Hey, my thing. Yeah, I was acting like my scene. Yeah, I was acting like you did nothing. I was in. I was in a boot. I was like, tone, let me get that massage. Well, I was up. He's trying to get ready. [00:40:34] Speaker B: Doing like this. I can't be doing that. [00:40:40] Speaker C: Yeah, I would send all the records in there, all the auto records in there, record setting records, all that. [00:40:45] Speaker B: But then, you know, he used to. [00:40:46] Speaker D: Work out before the game. Boy crazy. [00:40:48] Speaker B: That's what I'm trying to say. Like, I was. [00:40:52] Speaker C: Hey, man, I. You know, I'll be watching the. I see what the league dudes did. I. Oh, they do a lift. I'm doing it too. Tim, what's up? [00:40:58] Speaker B: I'm like, nah, son, I gotta preserve every bit of this that's going out there tonight. I can't be doing that. [00:41:04] Speaker C: I should get main buckets. We used to warm up with one on one. [00:41:08] Speaker D: You want to see how he. [00:41:09] Speaker C: Bro, so I ain't scored. [00:41:11] Speaker D: So you just dominate. So you just dominated. Dominated me everywhere. You dominated me everywhere. [00:41:16] Speaker C: I said, you used to give me buckets, too. We used to play for the midpost. Used to give me buckets. Yeah, we did. I did. Also, you know what's funny, too? [00:41:25] Speaker B: I come back there, call my peoples back home, make my calls before, like in free grand. I come to the back, I see a man, fella on the stepper. [00:41:35] Speaker C: Oh, that was his pregame joint, wasn't it? [00:41:38] Speaker B: He maxed it out for like five Minutes hard. [00:41:40] Speaker D: For real. [00:41:41] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:41:41] Speaker C: I didn't know he did that. [00:41:42] Speaker D: I didn't know he did that either. [00:41:44] Speaker B: Going that step and go crazy. That's what he. [00:41:46] Speaker C: Before the game. [00:41:47] Speaker D: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, he did. [00:41:48] Speaker B: Like right before the game when I would go make. [00:41:50] Speaker C: That's just like warm up. Warm up to get going. [00:41:53] Speaker B: Make my call in that quarter by the lower. Doc, Fella would be on that stepper going crazy like, what the ho? [00:42:00] Speaker D: Why are you making phone calls before the game? [00:42:03] Speaker B: I had some. That's crazy ritual, making calls back home. While I'm doing that, I see fella come out, drench every time. And then he go out there and beast him. So I don't know that little step he was doing, he was getting him right. [00:42:22] Speaker C: Get his motor going. [00:42:24] Speaker B: He said, who you calling it? Word. [00:42:25] Speaker D: Right out there fronting. [00:42:28] Speaker B: But I used to go out there the first time, not even warm up, shoot real quick, get stretched, go back in. [00:42:34] Speaker D: I used to go out there early just because I wanted to see the chicks out there. I used to go out there. I used to go out there in my tank top, the Adidas joint. [00:42:46] Speaker B: I'm cut up. It had to be after we left. He was doing this kind of stuff. [00:42:54] Speaker D: No, no, that was my junior year. I don't remember my senior year. I was not there. I told you my senior. I was like, I was faking. I told you nothing. [00:43:02] Speaker B: Like, he was going out there with that Mohawk. I wasn't there for that. [00:43:09] Speaker D: I was out there with them when I had the ball head. I was out there. I was out there early. Chicks. I'm just looking at the chicks in the. In the zoo. Oh, yeah, right there. [00:43:21] Speaker A: What two teams are in the championship game. Predict the score. And that's the last predictions that we're going. [00:43:26] Speaker B: I said Duke and Auburn. [00:43:27] Speaker A: What's the score? [00:43:28] Speaker B: I got Duke winning 85, 76. [00:43:31] Speaker C: Leading scored again. Cooper flag, 24 for the losing team. [00:43:35] Speaker B: Broom gonna have 18. [00:43:38] Speaker D: What you got? Who you going? [00:43:39] Speaker C: I got Auburn. The first game was Duke 8478. So this time I'm gonna go Auburn 84, 81. Broom 22 and 12. Cooper flag 21. 8 and 5. [00:43:57] Speaker D: 8 rebounds, 5 assists. Yeah, I got Duke. I got Duke in Florida. I'm be different. I got Duke in Florida. I got Duke handing them, cooking them in the championship game. I got them by. I got him by at least 15. So I say. I say 80, 65. Cooper flag, 18 points, eight rebounds, four assists, two steals. [00:44:30] Speaker B: Get up. [00:44:31] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:44:31] Speaker B: Now it's getting crazy. What? [00:44:34] Speaker C: You said get up. [00:44:38] Speaker B: Get up. [00:44:45] Speaker C: Go crazy. [00:44:46] Speaker D: This is stat. She stuffer. Mr. Stat Sheet himself. [00:44:50] Speaker B: I agree, man, but you just gotta have limitations, man. [00:44:54] Speaker C: Yo, I was. What I was gonna say. Go ahead, Lee. [00:44:58] Speaker A: What'd you say again, Lee? I'm writing. I'm writing these down. [00:45:01] Speaker B: Oh, I said 85, 76. That thing is a winner right there. Cooper flag 24, broom 18. That's. Come on. I didn't even go back to the first game in the score and you see how I picked that like that. What's. What's the son that used to be. [00:45:20] Speaker D: With my man Duke. [00:45:23] Speaker C: Auburn in the first half. [00:45:24] Speaker B: You hear G analysis. [00:45:26] Speaker C: Hey, and I was at camera indoor. So. [00:45:30] Speaker A: How much did you say broom's going to have? [00:45:33] Speaker C: 22 and 12, probably on nine for 15 shooting. Cooper flag 21, 85. [00:45:41] Speaker B: Chris Berman used to say he had the swamp. We used to say the swamp. The guy that should be picking it. [00:45:46] Speaker C: Oh, yeah. Stump swap that. [00:45:48] Speaker B: Yeah. I forget how you say it. [00:45:51] Speaker A: Maine. Would you say broom's gonna have. [00:45:53] Speaker D: I didn't give a broom. Prediction. No, I had Florida. [00:45:57] Speaker C: You didn't even give us who gonna kill on that team on Florida. Clayton. [00:46:03] Speaker D: I think he gonna have a tough shooting night. He'll probably lead them in scoring. I give him. I give him. I give him 15 on the tough shooting night. [00:46:11] Speaker A: And Cooper has 18. [00:46:14] Speaker D: Eight, four, two and two. [00:46:22] Speaker B: Down on it. [00:46:23] Speaker C: He forced those two and two. He couldn't like help himself. [00:46:28] Speaker A: A new segment. It's called General Bets Levance. He's been putting a lot of of his tickets in the group chat. He's been hitting probably one of the best gamblers in this group. Lee, who do you like this week? [00:46:42] Speaker B: I like Duke over Houston. What's the spread? [00:46:44] Speaker D: Hold on. Yeah, let me give you. The spread is minus five and a half. [00:46:50] Speaker B: Yeah, let me get that, dude. Yeah. No, I'm taking. [00:46:56] Speaker D: Okay, Florida Auburn spread minus two and a half. Oh, Florida. They got Florida minus two and a half. [00:47:05] Speaker B: I'm taking all bar money line. [00:47:09] Speaker C: Okay. [00:47:10] Speaker A: Anything on the over unders. You like the over unders these games? [00:47:12] Speaker B: I don't like the over on. Then I'm taking single props. I'm taking. I'm gonna take Cooper flag. 20 points and six rebounds. [00:47:20] Speaker D: 20 point, six rebound. [00:47:22] Speaker B: Yeah, I'm taking. I want to take pinuple for 12 points. [00:47:30] Speaker D: That's good. [00:47:31] Speaker B: And take proctor for 10 points. [00:47:32] Speaker D: I do. Let's go then. [00:47:34] Speaker B: I'm taking broom for that 18. Eight should take them for 10. 18 and 10. 18 and 10. Broom and they Playing Florida, correct? [00:47:43] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:47:44] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:47:44] Speaker B: So Clayton 20. He gotta get 20. I mean, getting 23s and 20. Clayton 20. I'm out of there. Right there. [00:47:52] Speaker D: Nice. Bad. [00:47:53] Speaker A: Would you put it on the parlay or everything straight? [00:47:55] Speaker B: No, everything. [00:47:56] Speaker D: You gotta let me get the ballet. He parlaying that anything? [00:47:59] Speaker B: You just straight to two college best. The first two I did when I said Duke and Auburn. When you. I picked the game just let by itself. But the whole thing, parlay. I like that. [00:48:10] Speaker C: How many legs is that? [00:48:11] Speaker D: Like. [00:48:11] Speaker B: I think I counted nine in my head. [00:48:13] Speaker A: That's a nine legger. [00:48:14] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:48:15] Speaker D: It's a nice bet right there. [00:48:16] Speaker C: All right. [00:48:17] Speaker D: And that's tough. They gave. That's tough. I realized they gave money line. [00:48:22] Speaker B: I like that. [00:48:22] Speaker D: Yeah, that's. [00:48:23] Speaker B: I mean, nothing against Florida, but I already like old merch, so it's like, yeah, money line. Why not? [00:48:28] Speaker D: All right. [00:48:29] Speaker A: You're welcome.
