[00:00:00] Speaker A: Welcome to another episode of the NIL podcast. Name, image and legends. I am your host this evening, Nick Rivers. Joined with me are my fellow pit legends, Jermaine Dixon, Gary McGee and Lavance Fields. College basketball starting. We got a lot of topics we want to cover today, but let's get started on this. College basketball. What we think, what teams we like, what players we like, what are the storylines for the year we're excited about. Gentlemen, are you guys ready? [00:00:28] Speaker B: Yes, sir. Let's get to it. [00:00:30] Speaker C: Get it. Let's get it. [00:00:32] Speaker A: Get right to it. So, like, we start off every episode. Let's talk pit basketball. First game of the season against Youngstown State. First half was kind of close. You know, I had the privilege. I covered the game. I was an analyst, color analyst for the game. It was a close game back and forth. Youngstown State, stock car. [00:00:51] Speaker B: So throw that out there. [00:00:52] Speaker A: What do we think about Pitt right now? [00:00:55] Speaker B: His first game of the season. A slow start. We struggled to shooting the ball early. We played good defense, though. [00:01:04] Speaker D: Omar, where's the spoon, Omar? [00:01:05] Speaker B: Omar impressed me with his defense. He didn't shoot the ball well offensively. It looked a little fast for him, but he impressed me defensively. He's active on the ball, long arms, but I think he'll get better as he get accustomed to the speed. I was impressed with Cam performance. Brandon was an offensive spark for us. I hope he plays like that, you know, the rest of the way. Minor played good defense on the ball. With the slow start, I was happy to see us. I think we won by 16. I was happy to see us pull away in the second half, close the gap at the end of the first half and pull away in the second half. I don't like the slow starts. That was a problem last year, so hopefully we get that corrected. But happy to see them get the win. [00:01:54] Speaker C: Yeah, I was definitely happy to see them get the dub. Team Cam play well. I know last year we was a little critical of him, you know, rebounding, and I think he did a really good job on the glass finishing. [00:02:03] Speaker D: He had a big game. [00:02:03] Speaker C: The big fella. Papa off the bench. 10 rebounds in 22 minutes. That's impressive. I'll be able to help them rebound. As we know, rebounding is definitely a very important aspect of the game, especially for usually a good pit teams. All rebounding was always one of our calling cards. It was good to see them do that, just being able to get a win in the first game. We know that first game sometimes can be difficult. You know, remember back to my Junior year, we almost lost the. Was it Wofford on the first game? So they. They was able to pull out a tough. Yeah, they were tough. They was able to pull out a better win against Youngstown State. You know, kind of getting their legs under them. You know, we used to stay. Start kind of with those slow schedules, you know, playing the Houston Baptist and, you know, teams like that. So it was good to see them get a win, hopefully build their confidence, and they can, you know, build on that for the, you know, rest of the games coming up. [00:02:52] Speaker B: Yeah, but, Lee, before you go, Youngstown State was a good team last year as well. And. And they. They brought. I think they brought a lot of guys back. I. I want to say they was in the tournament. I want to say they was in the tournament. [00:03:03] Speaker A: No, they. They weren't in the tournament. Robert Morris took the seat. [00:03:06] Speaker B: Oh, Robert Morris ended up winning, but they were. [00:03:07] Speaker A: They was at the 20 games. [00:03:09] Speaker B: Yeah, they was at the top of the conference. Yeah, they were. They were a good team last year. [00:03:12] Speaker A: And they're picked to finish third in their conference this year. They're a good team. Senior laden. [00:03:16] Speaker D: Just to piggyback off what y' all guys said, it's really good just to get a win, start the season off. Guys been practicing battling against each other for a long time now, so it was good for them to get a win to start the season. Like Gary said, they did a great job of rebounding. You know, that's a big emphasis, we feel like, on the games, period. If we. If you rebound, you give yourself a great chance to win. They won by 20 plus 20 on the rebound, so hopefully that could continue. Hopefully Papa could do that coming off the bench as well. Hopefully Camp could continue to perform that the way he did and just keep building off it. Like you said, Minor played great defense. Nelly had 18, so we expect that. [00:03:56] Speaker A: And Andrew Sidis. [00:03:57] Speaker D: Andrew Citis played well off the bench with 13, so. And that's what we looking for, for him to give us offense and shooting outside. So gonna have to be consistent. It's one game, but it's a good start. You rather win than lose. And unfortunately, like Gary, my team's now. We. We just always won by 20, 30 in these kind of games to start the season. We didn't even play. [00:04:21] Speaker C: Hey, hold up. [00:04:22] Speaker D: This is just. [00:04:23] Speaker C: Hey, let's not do that. We was missing two of our. [00:04:25] Speaker D: Two of our top. [00:04:26] Speaker C: Our top top six. [00:04:27] Speaker D: Yo, you put that out there. [00:04:29] Speaker C: He was missing two starters. Who's missing? Maine and Gilbert. [00:04:32] Speaker D: What you just said you got to play your schedule. We talking about another sport, right? [00:04:35] Speaker C: Guess what we did, though? We got a dub. We came out with a dub. That's. That's all that matters at the end of the day. [00:04:41] Speaker A: Mr. Backpack. [00:04:42] Speaker C: Yeah, exactly. [00:04:43] Speaker A: I used to play team on his back. [00:04:45] Speaker D: Remember? We got three starting fives when we was there, and we played them beginning game. Everybody getting burned. I go, come on, bro, what you doing, man? [00:04:52] Speaker B: Hey, was y' all watch the starting lineup? It was something that I was kind of. Kind of talked about. I believe we talked about it when we was up there. Who we thought was going to start, and they went with Omari Minor, Brandon, Cam, and Roman, I think is his name. [00:05:16] Speaker A: Yeah, Roman, the Australian kid. [00:05:18] Speaker B: The Australian guy, yeah. What do y' all think of that stunt lineup? I thought the kid Barry thought he was gonna get the stunt job, but. Or the kid from. [00:05:33] Speaker D: Yeah, yeah, what's good? [00:05:34] Speaker B: I thought when the number gonna start? [00:05:35] Speaker D: So we needed. Oh, you should have been in Pittsburgh, but I know. [00:05:41] Speaker A: Of fame. [00:05:42] Speaker C: Well out of work. I wanted to be there. I've been alive. Yeah, I ain't give me no scoop on that, but go ahead. [00:05:50] Speaker D: Now, have we talked about the hall. [00:05:51] Speaker A: Of Fame on the podcast yet? [00:05:52] Speaker D: Nah, man. You had to be there to talk about it if you wasn't there. We're not talking about that. We're not doing that. [00:05:57] Speaker C: What's my guys doing? Because I couldn't make it. [00:06:04] Speaker D: We already got the topic and talks. [00:06:07] Speaker B: We already got that planned out. [00:06:10] Speaker A: Okay. [00:06:11] Speaker D: Yeah, we gonna do it. Just us two. [00:06:14] Speaker B: All right. [00:06:14] Speaker A: I think that'd be a good clip. All right. [00:06:20] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:06:20] Speaker B: The starting five. [00:06:21] Speaker D: I'm ready. [00:06:22] Speaker A: This week is when college basketball started. What are some other games that or teams you guys are excited about this year so far? Go ahead. [00:06:31] Speaker C: No, go ahead, Lee. Go ahead. [00:06:33] Speaker D: I'm looking forward to watching Arkansas. I like the Darius the Cuff freshman guard coming in. I also like the my boy from Pittsburgh, Malik Thomas. I'm looking forward to see how he gonna play under Calipari, so I think they gonna be all right. I watched Florida game the other day. They got a lot of their returners and obviously Boogie Flynn from New York transferred over there. I look forward to him, you know, playing a little bit better as he get more comfortable with that squad. They're going to need him too, because of what Clayton did previous year. So, of course St. John's top five to start the year. I'm looking forward to see how them guys play now, knowing they're expected to win this year. It's not like a surprise or it's sneaking up on anybody. So that's a little different. When you come into a season, they have to do that. So I'm looking forward to seeing how they respond, handling that, them expectations. It's a lot of freshmen that I'm looking forward to seeing. So I guess I'm gonna be watching their teams too. Obviously. AJ with byu, watched him the other night. [00:07:33] Speaker C: He looked it good. [00:07:34] Speaker D: And Arizona got a freshman as well. [00:07:37] Speaker C: Nice. [00:07:38] Speaker D: How you say his last name? [00:07:40] Speaker C: Called Pete? Is it called Pete? [00:07:42] Speaker A: Bryce James. [00:07:43] Speaker D: Oh, no, no. [00:07:44] Speaker B: Bryce James. Crazy. [00:07:49] Speaker D: Yo, stop right now. We'll never get off the ground, you hear me? [00:07:58] Speaker C: I think I heard SUV pulling. [00:08:00] Speaker D: I think I had an SUV coming outside. Boy, we ain't going nowhere, man. [00:08:06] Speaker C: Relax. [00:08:08] Speaker B: We definitely ain't doing that. [00:08:10] Speaker D: What? Oh, Nick. Brother, that boy looks sick. [00:08:14] Speaker A: That's what I thought you were talking about. My bad, right? [00:08:16] Speaker D: N. You good. Keep that in there. [00:08:18] Speaker C: I like him, though. I like him, though. [00:08:20] Speaker B: I'm keeping it in there. [00:08:21] Speaker C: The freshman. The freshman from Arizona, Pete, he's nice. He got game. [00:08:25] Speaker D: I watched him in that game. [00:08:26] Speaker C: I think he's gonna be a top three pick. I like his game. I think he's got the. The, you know, the size, the athleticism, sport mid range, pretty good, man. And on Florida, you talk about Florida. [00:08:37] Speaker D: You said boogie Flynn. [00:08:39] Speaker C: Boogie, Boogie Flynn. He's good. [00:08:40] Speaker D: I like. [00:08:41] Speaker C: I like the point guard, though, Lee. I think he's a sucker. [00:08:43] Speaker D: Point guard transfer from Harvey, right? [00:08:45] Speaker A: Yeah. Oh, yeah, he nice. [00:08:47] Speaker C: He was balling. He got some games. [00:08:49] Speaker B: He was by the bucket and he was searching for a shot. [00:08:51] Speaker C: He was trying to get it. He was trying to get it up. He's making some good passes, too. I'm also looking forward to Kansas, of course, with Brandon Peterson and Indiana boy Floyd Bogunda. He's starting. He getting his time now that Hunter Dickinson is gone, so be able to show his game off. Athleticism. He hitting the hook shot now. Other team, of course, Purdue want to see Braden Smith, senior year. They got him preseason player of the year. Watch. So we'll see how that go. And freshman, Indiana, you know, at Notre Dame, Anderson guy, Jalen Harrelson, See what. [00:09:27] Speaker A: He gonna do there. Wow. [00:09:28] Speaker C: And I hope you do it. Hey, shout out to Jalen. [00:09:31] Speaker D: Get your game up, boy. [00:09:32] Speaker C: Do your thing. [00:09:32] Speaker A: Did you guys go to the same high school? [00:09:34] Speaker C: No, he ended up going to prep school. Transferred to a prep. So he went to a prep for his senior year. [00:09:40] Speaker A: And does he check in whenever he's in town with you? [00:09:42] Speaker C: Yeah. I talked to him before he went to school, you know he played a little. [00:09:47] Speaker B: You don't know that man. [00:09:47] Speaker C: I'm saying we play some. He don't know him a little bit, you know what I mean? For sure. And who I'm trying to think of other teams but them the main teams that I'm looking forward to, of course pit always. And yeah, I'm looking forward to the season, man. [00:10:03] Speaker D: Big game. [00:10:03] Speaker C: North Carolina and Kansas play on tomorrow. Tomorrow. So that should be a nice. You know what I'm saying? Looking forward to that. See how that goes for me. [00:10:11] Speaker B: It's actually only three teams that I'm looking forward to watching this year. Pitt top of the list. I want to see how school do well. Hoping that they can jump into the top 25 and keep on rising. Louisville. I definitely want to see Louisville play. They got a freshman point guard. I know his dad so I wanted him to come to Pitt but he's where he's at in acc. I'm looking forward to see if he can lead that team. Louisville is. Louisville had a good, good year last year. So let's see if they can keep it rolling. And then Duke, I want to see Boozer. I want to see Boozers son play. [00:10:50] Speaker C: So. [00:10:53] Speaker B: Outside of that, I mean of course I'm going to watch every team but those are the three teams that I'm watching the most hit at the top of the list. [00:11:00] Speaker A: All right. So last year, you know, the sec, it was a storyline. They dominated the tournament. They, you know, had the most teams in the top 25 most of the season. What conference do we think is going to take over the SEC as being the best or we think the SEC is running away with it again, I think. [00:11:16] Speaker C: Go ahead, go ahead, man. You got it. [00:11:17] Speaker B: No, go ahead, G. Go ahead, G. [00:11:19] Speaker C: I think they probably going. Don't run it back. They got a lot of the same teams that's still good teams. You got your Kentucky's, you got your Arkansas, your Florida. Those teams are still going to be good this year. [00:11:29] Speaker B: Houston. [00:11:30] Speaker C: Houston. [00:11:31] Speaker A: Auburn. [00:11:32] Speaker C: Yeah, Auburn's. I just seen them get a dub the other night. [00:11:34] Speaker A: Tennessee. [00:11:36] Speaker C: Tennessee. I mean I can keep naming them. It's just this is a loaded conference, man. They got just a lot of. A lot of good teams. A lot of teams that's going to be ranked and I think they're going to be right around the same amount of team. Maybe not as many, but right there, close. How many teams they go to the tournament this year? I don't know what conference. I mean the Big Ten Might be pretty good, but I don't think it's going to be on the level of SEC this year. [00:11:55] Speaker B: That's a good question. I actually don't know. I feel like. I feel like it might be spread around more this year. Like, we was talking to Ricky, how the money is allocated throughout. Throughout every team, they getting a certain. Certain amount of money. So when I look at the top 25, like they got UConn in the top five. And St. John's and Duke, Michigan. What conference? BYU in. [00:12:19] Speaker C: Yeah, they mount west still. [00:12:20] Speaker A: Or they're Big 12. [00:12:22] Speaker C: Big 12. [00:12:23] Speaker B: Big 12. So I don't think it's just dominant. Dominant SEC teams. Obviously, the SEC will be really good. I like to come back to this in about. When we hit middle of December going into the conference. I don't think it'll be dominant SEC teams like it was last year. [00:12:44] Speaker D: So. [00:12:45] Speaker C: So you. So how many. So if you had to guess right now, how many teams you think gonna make it? Just off the preseason? [00:12:49] Speaker D: We don't know much. [00:12:50] Speaker C: Just off of prestige, off the teams, off of what we know and who's coming back. [00:12:58] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:12:59] Speaker C: How many teams? More than 10? [00:13:00] Speaker B: No, no, no, no. I think. I think it's going to be less. I think it'll be. [00:13:04] Speaker C: How many did I get last year again? [00:13:06] Speaker B: Thirteen, something like that. I think maybe they'll get. I mean, they could end up with the most, maybe six or seven. I don't know. [00:13:13] Speaker C: No, they get more than six or seven. [00:13:15] Speaker A: 14 teams made it to. [00:13:18] Speaker C: Six or seven is wild. [00:13:20] Speaker A: 14 teams made it last year. [00:13:22] Speaker C: 14 is crazy. [00:13:23] Speaker D: Yeah, that's crazy. [00:13:25] Speaker C: That's wild. That's basically everybody but your bottom four teams, every team. [00:13:31] Speaker B: I don't think it'll be like that this year. [00:13:34] Speaker A: They beat our senior year in 2011 when we had 11. The Biggies had 11 teams. [00:13:38] Speaker C: I had three more teams, they had three more. I was hot outside. [00:13:47] Speaker A: We had that for the ACC on paper. Had a bad year or a down year. Everybody was saying, do you think this is the year that the ACC reemerges as one of the best? Because there's three teams in the preseason top 25 so far. Dude. Who's more of the line than Louisville? [00:14:03] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:14:04] Speaker B: I hope Pittsburgh become, you know, a top 25 team. I like what I seen. I mean, I didn't watch the game, obviously. I watched highlights. I like Kanye at Syracuse, and he came out the bench, had a smooth 15. Now they playing some bums, but I like the way he looked. Miami got a new coach from Duke, John Luke is the head coach at Miami, so I'm sure he brings some of that Duke pedigree over there. I don't know. ACC is wait and see. ACC is a wait and see conference. [00:14:33] Speaker C: Yeah, that's kind of how they've been. [00:14:34] Speaker D: For some years now. [00:14:35] Speaker A: So Levance hit on it earlier. I feel like this year, I can't remember a year where there were so many star studded freshmen, so many freshmen that consider some of the best players in the country. I mean last year there were some star studded freshmen. Cooper flag kind of made a name for himself and set the tone. But this year I feel like there's four or five Cooper flags. Big names, big nil dollars, big brands. Who is your guys favorite? Three freshmen. I would give each of you three freshmen if you had to, you know, build, build a team with. Who do you guys like? [00:15:06] Speaker D: My 3 would be AJ obviously at BYU, like I said, a cuff over there at Arkansas. My third player would be Darren Peterson at Kansas. I'm looking forward to watching him break three. [00:15:23] Speaker B: I know for me is reset. He said. I know he said. I know for me is Mikel Brown at Louisville. He's top of my list already. He's averaging like he played today. You say he had nine assists, right, Lee? Yeah, he's averaging like he averaging like eight and a half assists first two games, like 13, 14 points, 6, 5. He's legit. I think he's a top 10 pick in the draft this year. He's definitely one and done. And then it's funny because I'm naming ACC guys but him, Cameron Boozer, obviously he had a double W. He didn't shoot the ball well, but he dominated the game. His presence was definitely foul. And then my third one probably would be AJ he might be the best player in college basketball this year. Just off me watching that game against Villanova and the way he played. I know obviously the boy from Arizona dominated, but I just like watching AJ Play from the wing spot. I think he'll be really good and he defends well. So those are my three. [00:16:37] Speaker C: For me my three is Brandon Peterson. Of course he just has the complete game and do it all on the court. I like him a lot. And then I will go with. I like AJ Also as a slashing wing with the size, athletic ability, able to get to the cup and his shooting, he doesn't really shoot threes as much. I haven't seen shoot a lot of threes so that's something I want to kind of see him shoot some more. Threes because that's where the game is. [00:17:02] Speaker D: Now, especially in the pro level. [00:17:04] Speaker C: And then Cole Pete, I think he's the best player from what I've seen that first game. I. I'm. That's who I like when you drop 30 points on your first. Your first game. 30 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, 3. 2 steals in the block. I mean, I don't know what else. [00:17:19] Speaker D: You want from a freshman. [00:17:20] Speaker C: Kids bear. [00:17:21] Speaker D: The kids. [00:17:21] Speaker A: Kids. [00:17:21] Speaker C: Not easy. [00:17:22] Speaker D: Barely can't even go to the club yet. [00:17:24] Speaker C: Y' all heard Killing. But that's the guy. That's what I like. That's my favorite one. Now, just that one game, I. I'm excited to watch him this year. [00:17:34] Speaker D: You sold? So he got you. So. [00:17:37] Speaker C: Yeah, I seen. I seen it. I've seen enough already. He did it against the defending champ, so it ain't like he played. You know what I'm saying? They was ranked higher than him. It's an upset. Not a big upset, but it's an upset. [00:17:48] Speaker D: You know what I'm saying? [00:17:48] Speaker B: No, it's definitely a big upset. I thought Flo was going to win that game. [00:17:53] Speaker C: They got the team, got the squad. Like you said, they're going to miss Walter Clayton Jr. For sure. [00:17:59] Speaker D: A lot of big shots in close games. [00:18:01] Speaker C: Big shot maker, for sure. He was definitely getting to a tournament. [00:18:04] Speaker D: And not just in the tournament. He did that all year for them. Yeah. [00:18:08] Speaker C: Yeah, but tournament is more, you know, rememberable. [00:18:10] Speaker D: Yeah, of course. [00:18:11] Speaker C: They won the chips. Make some big ones. [00:18:14] Speaker B: That's when. That's when Lee went crazy. Tournament, huh? Big shots. [00:18:18] Speaker D: I tried to have a one shining moment, man. [00:18:20] Speaker C: That's all I ever want. [00:18:22] Speaker B: Yeah. I was telling my coworker, My coworker was like, you played in the tournament? I said, yeah, I was sweet 16, elite eight. I was like. And I told him about when I missed the layup on the fast break. [00:18:35] Speaker D: Oh, man. Son. [00:18:37] Speaker B: But he was like. But to go to that, because I. I couldn't find that on the Internet. But to go to that, I had to go to Levance. It's like Levance clutch. [00:18:47] Speaker D: Yeah, it's on there. [00:18:50] Speaker C: I've been there. I've been there. [00:18:53] Speaker D: We almost pulled his hamstring. I don't know what he was doing. [00:18:56] Speaker C: Oh, man. [00:18:57] Speaker B: But it's under your clutch moments. So that's what made me think of that. So as I was telling him that, I started watching your shot at the shot you get hit against Xavier. The shot you hit against. I mean. No, I mean the free throws. You got the free throws against Nova. [00:19:13] Speaker D: I know you was over there reminiscing, bro. It's all right. I appreciate it. That's how I shot Lee. [00:19:18] Speaker A: I mean, Lee, you hit a lot of big shots in your career. What's your favorite shot that you hit in your college career? [00:19:26] Speaker D: That's an easy question. It's Duke. Cause it was the Garden. I'm from New York, Brooklyn. So it's like the Mecca Arenas. Like my family, everybody was there. It was Duke. We both ranked undefeated. It was. That's the. That's the biggest shot. You know what I mean? [00:19:45] Speaker A: But was that a call play or is that something you said? No, I'm taking this shot. I don't care what's happened. Like, what was the whole storyline. You had to timed out before the play. [00:19:54] Speaker D: It was overtime. I was tired. Mike got hurt. I couldn't do another overtime. They was picking up full court. I said, I'm suing this to B night. Before we went into the timeout, Dixon was drawing up something. I wasn't paying no mind. Sam did the screen. That's why if you watch it, Sam come screen, he go down. No disrespect. Cause Sam, you know, he was a boss. [00:20:17] Speaker A: I know Sam wanted it. [00:23:29] Speaker D: That's. That's very true. Yo, man, you was never gambling with us. Why? Don't even comment. All right, I was about to say. [00:23:38] Speaker B: That wasn't why I was there. I must say that wasn't why I was there. [00:23:41] Speaker D: You don't even. Don't even speak on this gambler situation. [00:23:43] Speaker C: We was. [00:23:44] Speaker B: Yeah, y' all wasn't gambling while I was there. [00:23:48] Speaker D: Right there. That's from Gary in Indiana. How you say it? Anderson. Anderson. Because I ain't really know what I was doing. [00:24:36] Speaker B: Country three dice guy. [00:24:37] Speaker C: Yeah, we straight crash, bro at seven, huh? [00:24:41] Speaker D: Eleven. [00:24:42] Speaker C: Yeah, like that. [00:24:43] Speaker D: Blackjack leaving. [00:24:50] Speaker C: I was going crazy that day. [00:24:51] Speaker D: He was, too, right? You feel? [00:25:20] Speaker C: He definitely had the vibes in there, you know? Let us go in there, kick it. Yeah, it was like that. That's true. That's true. Yeah. [00:25:27] Speaker D: Orville Roberts. And then we played Michigan State. [00:25:29] Speaker B: This is the toner. Oh, yeah. [00:25:30] Speaker C: I lost. [00:25:31] Speaker B: Y' all lost. [00:25:32] Speaker A: Y' all play Shannon Brown? [00:25:33] Speaker D: Nah. [00:25:33] Speaker C: Oral Roberts? [00:25:34] Speaker D: Hell, no. Damn, Nick. [00:25:36] Speaker C: Oh, you told me. God damn. It was on the same team. I ain't got that many grades in my beer. God dang. [00:25:54] Speaker D: Where he from? Detroit or he from? We're not from Baltimore. [00:25:57] Speaker B: I think he's from Indiana. [00:25:58] Speaker D: Oh, Indiana. [00:26:01] Speaker B: From Indiana. [00:26:02] Speaker C: I don't think he's from Indiana. I think he's from up there in Michigan. [00:26:06] Speaker D: I played somebody with him in Orlando, man. Yeah, it was cool. I never forget he had, like, them big shots. And I think. What tournament, right? Kept sending it to overtime. Please, somebody. It was like a classic. Instant classic, man. The NCAA tournament, it might have been Illinois. Illinois who? Illinois. That was Arizona. They upset, like, from day. [00:26:27] Speaker C: From Detroit. [00:26:28] Speaker D: Detroit. I knew it. See? Yep. Detroit, man. The research team. Too slow. [00:26:31] Speaker B: No, it was no research team. That was just a guess. [00:26:34] Speaker A: All right, so as the first week of college basketball comes to an end, what are we looking forward to this weekend? What game? What big games should we all keep our eyes on as we. We're going to recap next week? [00:26:44] Speaker C: Yeah. I was gonna say, I think for sure that North Carolina and Kansas game, that's the rank. Two ranked teams going at it. Two blue bloods, you know, known traditions and Prestige. So that should be a good game. Some good players on both sides. That's the one, I would say the number, the main one. Not sure who picked place this weekend. [00:27:02] Speaker D: Yeah, I ain't check them out yet, but I'm looking. I'm waiting for Peterson. So me and man was talking about that already. I want to watch that game tomorrow. That's tomorrow, right? I don't think that's the. That's the. [00:27:11] Speaker B: Yeah, that's tomorrow. [00:27:12] Speaker D: Yeah. Yeah. So, yeah, I'm looking forward to watching that. I ain't check the game already. [00:27:20] Speaker B: I mean, it's actually some good games this weekend. That game. Kansas tomorrow. Saturday. Alabama plays St. John's at noon. Arkansas play Michigan State Saturday. [00:27:34] Speaker D: Where Alabama playing St. John's at? In the Garden. [00:27:37] Speaker B: Yeah, in the Garden. In the Garden. [00:27:42] Speaker D: I might have to pull up. We gotta go see my boy. I forgot he transferred from North Carolina. That's. Who wants the transfer from North Carolina. That's from New York. I can't get his name right now. And believe this right now. Oh, my God. [00:27:54] Speaker C: He got the job. Did that guard from. I'm about to say, did that guard from Alabama stay that point guard they had last year? [00:27:59] Speaker D: He's still here. [00:28:00] Speaker C: Yeah, he's still there. [00:28:02] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:28:03] Speaker C: That should be a good matchup. There should be a nice matchup. [00:28:05] Speaker B: And then Ian Jackson. [00:28:08] Speaker D: There we go. My bad. [00:28:09] Speaker C: Good looking, Nick. [00:28:09] Speaker D: Ian Jackson. I can't believe I have a guy's name. Yes, he left from North Carolina. Yeah. He gonna have that ball in his hand. Rick gonna let him. And he could shoot it. I feel like he could. Dari Richmond, but he could shoot it. He thinner though, his body frame. No, Kadari was more. And probably. I probably give to Kadari the. The edge on defense. Not taking a lot away from Ian, but I think he more of a shooter, like more offensive. So you gonna get the same. He could get the same production. We'll see. Or even the production he got from the other guy that wanted to transfer now or enter the draft. I'll get my guy. Luis, right? R.J. luis. Yeah. [00:28:47] Speaker B: Ricky's talking about him. He was at UMass. Ricky, Luis. [00:28:52] Speaker D: He just played that same. [00:28:54] Speaker A: Oh. [00:28:54] Speaker D: As a player. [00:28:55] Speaker B: He started at UMass with Ricky. [00:28:57] Speaker D: I got you. I got you. I was about to say. Whoa, whoa, whoa. Ricky. What we was in college. I lost it. [00:29:07] Speaker B: Tuesday. The game I'm looking forward to for next week is Tuesday Louisville play Kentucky 11 and nine. And that's. That where that's at. [00:29:16] Speaker C: That's in Louisville or that's In Lexington or. That's a neutral site. You know. [00:29:22] Speaker B: I think Louisville. [00:29:24] Speaker D: Kfc. [00:29:25] Speaker B: KFC Center. Is that Louisville? [00:29:27] Speaker C: Yeah, that's Louisville. Yeah, that's down the street. I don't know nobody, though. [00:29:32] Speaker D: I thought the yum situation. You said who playing? Oh, yeah, yeah. That's in Louisville, then. Yeah, I'm trying to. [00:29:38] Speaker A: It's gonna be live. [00:29:39] Speaker D: Harry played in there. Y' all put. [00:29:40] Speaker C: Yeah, we played there. Yeah, that was. That's where they opened it up. I think that was the first game we played. [00:29:45] Speaker D: There was a very. [00:29:45] Speaker A: With the Whiteout. [00:29:46] Speaker C: Yeah, that was the very first game in there. [00:29:48] Speaker A: That's crazy. [00:29:49] Speaker C: Good to see. [00:29:50] Speaker B: Next week is actually a lot of top 25 teams playing each other. Creighton plays Gonzaga and Texas Tech plays Illinois. I don't know nothing about either one of those teams. I'm not gonna lie to you. [00:30:03] Speaker C: But you're familiar. It's your job. [00:30:05] Speaker B: That's right. [00:30:06] Speaker C: That's right. [00:30:06] Speaker B: Watch him. [00:30:07] Speaker C: Watch them. [00:30:07] Speaker B: When the game come, you're familiar. Who you know on Texas Tech. Go ahead, tell me one person. [00:30:12] Speaker C: The big man. Who? [00:30:16] Speaker D: The big man. [00:30:17] Speaker C: The one dude that played there. No, on Texas Tech. Federico.
